About Us

The Northwest Jersey Board 168 of the IAABO - International Association of Approved Basketball Officials is comprised of over 250 to 300 men and women who are dedicated to providing the highest standard of basketball officiating while maintaining the stated purposes of IAABO, which are:

• To educate, train, develop, and provide continuous instruction for basketball officials.
• To promote the welfare of the game of basketball, its players and officials.
• To maintain the highest standard of basketball officiating.
• To encourage the spirit of fair play and sportsmanship.
• To have available at all times an adequate number of thoroughly trained and capable officials.
• To cooperate with all organizations officially connected with the game of basketball in furthering its interests and ideals.

Board History

Board 168 was founded in 1974 after spinning off from North Jersey Board 33. When the board was established there were initially 80+ members with the current roster total at just over 250 members.

From the President

To my fellow officials,

It is an honor to serve as your President during this dynamic year.  It has taken longer than we had hoped but, this new website begins a new era for our board.  We also have a new Interpreter and Secretary/Treasurer.  Everything has been done to advance the board for years to come.

I would also like to THANK all membersof our board who have served tirelessly to guide this board to its well deserved reputation. I can only hope we working members can improve on this fine foundation.

Let us work hard during this coming year.
